As you sit on the spacious terrace of Bacchus Field and view the glorious sunset over the Caribbean Sea, it is time to start thinking about dinner options on the beautiful island of Nevis.   The modern kitchen at Bacchus Field is totally equipped to prepare meals for a large party.  The charming West Indian dining room is in a free standing building and has a dining table that will seat up to 10 people.

Or perhaps you would prefer to venture out of the estate and sample one of the fine dining establishments on the island.  You have your choice of elegant and historic Plantation Inns, fun beachside tropical restaurants, or elegant modern hotel dining.

For special evenings we love to dine at one of Nevis’ famous plantation inns such as the Hermitage or Montpelier.  These inns have hosted royalty and celebrities.  Princess Diana and her sons were guests at Montpelier.  When you make a reservation, you will be invited to arrive for cocktails usually around 7:00.  As you enter the living room of one of these plantations, you feel as though you have joined a tropical English house party.  You may be seated for drinks on a sofa near other guests as you are served delightful canapés.  As in English country house hotels, you will be presented with menus and a wine list while you are having drinks and your dinner orders will be taken before you ever see the dining terrace.  Then, once your first course is in place, you will be graciously guided to your table overlooking the romantic tropical gardens.

Both the Hermitage and Montpelier are a very short drive from Bacchus Field.

For more casual meals we love to head to one of the many beachside bars or restaurants.  One of the most popular, Sunshines, is located in the middle of Pinney's beach.  Also, at the south end of Pinney's is a wonderful bar/restaurant, The Double Deuce.

For fantastic seafood visit Gallipot.   After an afternoon meal, it is wonderful to head to their beach where you will find wonderful snorkeling.
